Lazy Girl Trail

The Lazy Girl Trail is a scenic one-mile loop located within the Bradley Nature Preserve, a 9-acre property nestled mostly within Saluda city limits. This land was once part of the historic Ransom-Pace family estate in Saluda.

With support from the Polk County Community Foundation and the Bradley Fund, the Saluda Community Land Trust was able to purchase this land from William Pace, ensuring its preservation as a park and trail system.

The Lazy Girl Trail loops around a spring that once supplied water to the homes above on Esseola Street. Residents used a pulley system, known as "The Lazy Gal," to haul the water uphill and across the road. Today, the trail honors the people who lived in the area and their connection to the land.
